About Fernhill

Fernhill School, established in 1972, is a Catholic Independent School, managed by a Board of Governors. It stands in nine acres of pleasantly wooded grounds high above the City of Glasgow, overlooking the Clyde Valley and backing on to Cathkin Braes.

The school has both a Primary and a Secondary Department, fully equipped with modern classrooms and laboratories. The Primary Department has seven single classes and accepts girls and boys throughout. The total primary roll is approximately one hundred and fifty. The Secondary Department accepts girls only and the total roll is also approximately one hundred and fifty.

Fernhill School’s motto isCor unum et anima una” -  ”With one mind and one heart” - and the aims of the school are to provide an academic education of a high standard and to help the children to develop their potential in a secure and pleasant atmosphere. Fernhill School’s intention is to prepare pupils for entry to university, higher and further education.

Our priorities are the training of the intellect and will according to Christian principles, the development of habits of hard work, fostering good social relationships and success in studies.
