Tuition Fees

There will be no increase in the standard school fees for the school term 2011/12.  Details are available from the Bursar, Mrs Anthea Capaldi, (capaldia@fernhillschool.co.uk) and the Marketing Executive, Tara Fitzpatrick (tfitzpatrick@fernhillschool.co.uk) or 0844 209 2309.

There is a special offer for S6 pupils of £7,000.

There are several payment options for fees:

  • In full in the first week of each term
  • In instalments over 10 months by direct debit
  • In instalments over 12 months by direct debit

Forms and any other information required may be obtained from the School Secretary. The Board of Governors reserves the right to make a surcharge on fees not paid by the due date.

All fees attract a 3% discount if paid annually in advance prior to 31st August 2011.

Bursaries

A number of means-tested bursaries are available. Bursary forms are available from the school office. Bursary applicants should apply directly to the Bursar at capaldia@fernhillschool.co.uk.

Family Discounts

There is a discount on fees for a second child of £405 per year. The discount for a third child is £2,070 per year and for a fourth child is £3,000 per year.  Family Discounts are not available on Assisted Places.

After-School Care

The cost of after-school care is £6.00 per two-hour daily session. A £50.00 deposit is payable upon joining and refundable on leaving the service on the condition that the notice period is met.

Nursery

The rates for the nursery, which was launched in August 2011, are as follows:

Additional Information

The above fees include charges for the use of textbooks and photocopied material in both Primary and Secondary Departments, stationery within the Primary Department, and all activities (including the cost of transport for educational outings) which take place within the school day. Also included are expenses incurred in respect of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Not included in the fees are payments due to the Reserve Capital Fund (£125 per year for the first four years), organised trips of more than one day’s duration, entrance fees, ticket money, use of the school bus system, daily travel between home and school, SQA and GCE Examination Fees for S4, S5, S6 and Instrumental Tuition. Fees are payable in the first week of the term (three terms) or may be made by Direct Debit (10 equal instalments) starting in August.

Registration Fee

The sum of £250 is due immediately after a pupil is accepted. This fee is not returnable but will be deducted from the first term’s Tuition Fees. A full term’s notice (or fees in lieu) must be given upon the withdrawal of a pupil from the school.
