All of our pupils are encouraged to take part in competitions with other schools in a variety of activities. Fernhill School  is very proud of its pupils, who always represent the School in an admirable fashion.

We have been most successful in the local music festivals, regional and national art competitions, regional public speaking events and chess competitions. Three of our pupils have been recipients of the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Award for their Inspiration to others and work with younger pupils in the School. Details of success in events are to be found in our School Magazine, published every year in December.

Visits to theatres, art galleries, excursions to the Cairngorms, France and Italy for skiing and school trips to other places of interest (often connected with project work) are an important part of Fernhill School’s extra-curricular programme.  Past trips and excursions include London, Stratford, Chester, York, Iona, Lindisfarne, Paris and the Loire Valley. Fernhill School’s choir has performed in Barcelona, Monserrat Abbey, Florence and Venice.

Fernhill School

Fernhill School educates children from nursery level through to the completion of their secondary education. At nursery and primary levels, boys and girls are offered the best possible education in small class sizes. The Secondary Department continues to offer the highest possible standard of education exclusively for girls.

Examination results continue to reinforce how successful the school’s approach to learning is. As well as focusing on the critical area of attainment, the school offers a unique variety of opportunities for our pupils to achieve beyond the classroom. Pupils confidence and experiences are enriched as the school works with its parents to allow the young people to develop into successful, responsible citizens capable of moving on to fulfil their ambitions in the world beyond the Fernhill gates.

Fernhill is a Catholic independent school where daily life is centred on the values of the Gospel. Entirely within these values, all children are welcomed into and supported by the Fernhill School community.

Parents considering enrolling their children in the unique Fernhill community will be warmly welcomed to visit the school – and there is no better time than during the school day when excellence in action can be witnessed.
