An important aim of the Geography Department is to use the extremely valuable tool of fieldtrips to further pupils’ understanding and enthusiasm. Each year group undertakes a fieldtrip at some point, from working in the school grounds to day trips to a residential trip at Higher level.
Another important aspect is aiming to make effective use of ICT in the subject, be it for presentation, revision, research or analysis. Classes regularly make use of computing labs, laptops or internet resources and are encouraged to do so at home also.
