Discipline
Discipline is a prerequisite in the satisfactory operation of the School as well as being a fundamental part of Christian life. It is expected that parents will assist the School in matters of discipline by ensuring that pupils meet Fernhill School’s standards of behaviour, attendance, time-keeping, homework and uniform. A high degree of mutual respect is encouraged between staff and pupils.
All Sixth Year Pupils become Senior Prefects and from this group is chosen the Head Girl and her Depute. The Senior Pupils assist staff in maintaining discipline in the school and care for the younger children on the buses to and from school.
Homework
Homework is an integral part of school work. The homework of younger children should be supervised by the parents. Parents of older children should make sure that both learning and written homework are completed to a satisfactory level and handed in on the designated date. We actively encourage parents to take an interest in their child’s work from a very early stage and to maintain that interest as their child progresses through the school.
Uniform
School uniform is worn at all times in school and while travelling to and from School. We are proud of our pupils and we know that they are proud of their school. It is extremely important that the uniform is worn as directed to ensure the equality of all pupils. Our uniform is supplied by two approved retailers:
